Wet BioPP Gloss

Wet BioPP Gloss

Wet BioPP Gloss films are produced using 30% Biobased PP resin obtained from 2nd generation Bio feedstock (waste vegetable cooking oils) and 70% Virgin PP.  These films are made of polypropylene resins of the same quality as traditional fossil fuel-based resins and are ideal for both the graphic arts and packaging industries.  They repurpose waste material into biobased PP, reducing the use of fossil fuel-based resins.  BioPP laminating films offer a sustainable alternative that supports the environment and our sustainability goals.

This high gloss film provides excellent clarity and slip properties.

What is BioPP Gloss Lamination Film?

BioPP gloss lamination film is a bi-axially oriented polypropylene film that incorporates bio-based raw materials, typically derived from renewable sources such as waste vegetable oils. This reduces the use of fossil fuel-based resins while maintaining the same strength, clarity and processing performance as conventional BOPP films.

In gloss form, the film delivers high transparency and brilliance, enhancing colours and creating a vibrant, high-impact finish on printed materials.

Key Features

  • High gloss finish – Exceptional clarity and shine for maximum visual impact
  • Bio-based material – Produced using renewable feedstocks to reduce fossil fuel use
  • BOPP performance – Strong, flexible and moisture resistant
  • Excellent optical properties – Low haze and high transparency for clean, sharp print
  • Wet lamination compatible – Designed for adhesive-based systems
  • 2-side corona treated – Ensures strong adhesion for inks, coatings and adhesives

Benefits of BioPP Gloss Lamination

This film combines sustainability with high-end visual performance:

  • Enhanced visual impact – High gloss finish increases colour vibrancy and depth
  • Reduced environmental impact – Uses renewable raw materials to lower reliance on fossil plastics
  • Durable protection – Improves resistance to moisture, handling and wear
  • Drop-in replacement – Performs like standard BOPP with no process changes required
  • Supports eco branding – Ideal for brands looking to improve sustainability credentials

BOPP films are widely used in packaging and print because they combine clarity, strength and moisture resistance, making them a reliable choice for high-performance applications.

Applications

Wet BioPP Gloss Lamination Film is widely used in:

  • Luxury and retail packaging
  • Food and flexible packaging
  • Brochures, catalogues and marketing materials
  • Book covers and publications
  • Labels and high-impact printed media

It is particularly suited to applications where strong visual appeal and improved sustainability must be combined.

Wet vs Thermal BioPP Lamination

  • Wet lamination uses a liquid adhesive applied during processing
  • Thermal lamination uses heat-activated adhesive

Wet lamination is typically preferred for high-volume production and applications requiring strong adhesion and flexibility.
